Listen to live recordings as well as polished demos. A small acoustic group can suit dinner conversation, while a larger band may offer a wider repertoire for dancing. Ask who will perform on your date and whether the lineup matches the examples you heard.
Share the venue layout, guest numbers and evening schedule. Compare playing time rather than booking duration, and agree on music during breaks. Sound limits, staging, meals and access for unloading can affect the quote.
Some bands offer a special arrangement; others work from an established repertoire. Ask early, confirm any rehearsal charge and request a recorded alternative as a backup.
