Make the conversation specific to your wedding

Bring your date, location and an outline of the service you are considering. Ask the vendor to explain how their approach would work for your plans, using examples of comparable events. Write down what is included and anything you need to confirm later.

Choose flavor and portions alongside the design

Think about when the cake will be served and whether other desserts are planned. Bring a few design references, but discuss which finishes suit the setting and transport. Ask the baker to explain serving sizes and how the design affects the number of portions.

Plan a safe handover at the venue

Confirm who delivers, assembles and positions the cake. Discuss storage, display time and the venue conditions with the baker. Include stand hire, collection and any cutting or serving arrangements when comparing the total cost.

The first questions focus on this service; the remaining questions cover booking arrangements. Confirm final answers in writing.
